About Us
The University of North Carolina Charlotte Chapter of the American Association of University Professors is an advocacy organization that promotes the welfare and safety of our community, academic freedom, meaningful shared governance, and other issues of concern to higher education workers. We work from the premise that universities provide a common good that works best when faculty, staff, and students are free to conduct research and teach without interference.
Our local chapter embraces the mission of the American Association of University Professors, (AAUP), and works closely with North Carolina Conference of the AAUP and other NC campus chapters. Membership is open to all teaching and research faculty, graduate students, post-docs, librarians, and academic staff. It is confidential and gives you access to national and state resources, including a legal hotline.
